Merritt Wedding Invite

Embarking on a unique and untraditional design journey, I undertook a special project brought to me by a local couple immersed in the excitement of planning their wedding. Inspired by the whimsical yet dark charm of Henry Selick’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” the challenge was to infuse the celebration with elements reminiscent of the film while navigating the intricate waters of copyright considerations.

Carefully treading the fine line between homage and originality, the design project embraced a color palette that captured the essence of Halloween, perfectly aligned with the couple’s October wedding date. The careful curation of hues allowed for a playful yet sophisticated ambiance, seamlessly blending the magic of the film with the couple’s personal style.

One of the focal points of the project was the creation of RSVP and wedding invitations. Meticulously designed, the invitations played with a striking contrast of colors, featuring a sophisticated interplay of black and grey against vibrant orange hues. This intentional design choice not only reflected the spooky allure of the film but also established a visual narrative that set the tone for the entire event.

In crafting this unforgettable wedding experience, the goal was to ensure that every design element paid homage to “The Nightmare Before Christmas” without crossing into the realm of copyright infringement. The resulting aesthetic was a harmonious fusion of creativity, originality, and respect for intellectual property, making the couple’s special day a truly magical and uniquely memorable affair.
